Artist Statement My newest bronze works are based on the female form, modeled as gestured studies, that replicate the natural textures of earth and quarried stone, combining humanistic life with nature. These studies portray the external beauty of women, revealing the inner sensuality of her spiritual being, giving way to harmonious and rhythmic motion. They are momentary glimpses that capture the response of a reaction, a mood, or feeling, one of profound thought. A depiction of life within the cultures who lived in harmony with the environment projecting a state of incompletion, something that has been abandoned or appear to be in transition of reverting back to nature, or is in a state of creation, emerging from the earth, towards a destination. They delve into the social and physiological aspects of cultural and historical change, an integration into another society, a new country, a new life, reflecting on the past, but merging forward into the unknown and unpredictable future.
